Name: Merriot Galvire
Alias: None
Age: 19
Race: Human
Physical Appearance: Click Here!
Personality: The best way to describe Merriot would most likely be quiet, yet inquisitive. She feels awkward initiating conversations with strangers and will keep to herself most of the time. However, she is always looking to learn new things, whether it be about Virale, its history, the Korde, or anything in between. What currently drives her is her search for answers regarding what happened to her mentor on the night he disappeared.
Even though Merriot enjoys combat, she will still attempt to settle a conflict through words first if she feels that swords are unnecessary. She is well aware that many problems aren’t that simple to deal with. However, the girl always feels like it’s necessary to try.

Powers/Abilities: Merriot is abnormally quick and agile for a human.
Equipment: Merriot is armed with a standard longsword and a shield. She wears leather armor as to not hinder her movements. She also has a cape that is easily removable with a light tug so that she doesn’t get tangled up in it just in case a fight breaks out. Other than what she needs to fight, the only thing that Merriot ever carries with her is a pouch for food and money.
Gold: 600
Weaknesses: Merriot is still a bit naïve to the ways of the world. Elwin did most of the talking during their travels. Now that he has vanished, Merriot isn’t accustomed to dealing with those who may lie to her. This doesn’t mean that she’s stupid, but she has yet to learn that not everyone in the world is true to their word. She is also known to let her curiosity get the better of her.
Background: Merriot was born in a tiny rundown village located near the base of the Jimroar Mountains. The village was named Ellrit, and was home to a variety of different races. Aside from the occasional attack by beast or bandit, those who lived in Ellrit didn’t have too much to worry about.
The children of Ellrit tended to do either one of two things once they came of age. Most of them ended up becoming farmers or foragers to help benefit the village. However, there were a few that simply couldn’t be satisfied with leading such a simple life. Those individuals became mercenaries who traveled the land in search of just about any kind of work they could get their hands on. They would then bring the money from their travels back to Ellrit so that the village could use it to buy from the traders that would visit. This was the sort of life that young Merriot longed for.
Merriot started her training with the sword at a young age. Her mentor was a middle aged man that was called Elwin Thayridge. Elwin had only lived in the village for a few months before taking Merriot on as a pupil. Many of the villagers weren’t too keen on having an outsider live among them. However, Merriot enjoyed his company and was fascinated with the many stories he told of his travels across the land.
Eventually young Merriot turned thirteen. In Ellrit, thirteen was the age where a child finally became an adult and it was time for them to decide how they wanted to live. Merriot didn’t need any more time to choose her path. She announced to the village elders that she would become a mercenary and they branded the back of her neck with the symbol of a snake like they did with everyone on their thirteenth birthday.
Merriot spent several years traveling to various cities at the side of her mentor. Most of their work came from dealing with bandits, though there were a few odd jobs sprinkled into the mix as well. All was going well for Merriot and Elwin until they were hired to take care of a group of bandits that were plaguing a village. This was nothing new to either of them; Merriot and Elwin had taken care of too many bandits to keep track of by this point.
The pair found the bandits in the forest near the village that had hired them. The fight wasn’t difficult; it was obvious that their opponents never had any proper training. It wasn’t until after the battle was won that things became strange. A strange gas filled the clearing that Elwin and Merriot had just been fighting. The two were almost instantly knocked unconscious by the unexplained gas.
When Merriot woke up, there was no sign of Elwin or the corpses of the bandits. No matter how many times she called out to her teacher, the girl was greeted by silence each time. She eventually made her way back to the village that had hired them. Surely the people there would know something about whatever had happened. What she found when she arrived didn’t answer any of her questions. It only brought up new ones.
According to the villagers, she was the only one they had hired. None of them recalled Elwin or anyone that even remotely matched his description, even though he was the one that had done all of the negotiating when they had first arrived. Merriot had absolutely no idea what was going on. The only thing she could think to do was set out on her own and hope to find answers.

Sample RP: It was the second time in her life that Lapis Lazuli truly felt alone. Not only had Dr. Criel passed away, but now her home and everything she had ever known was gone.
The small android girl stood trembling in the center of what was once her father’s cherished laboratory. The drones had all exploded, the computers had all been smashed, and all of the machines and other devices were scattered about the floor in tiny pieces. There was no way that any of this mess could be salvaged. It was beyond repair.
‘Why? Why did it come to this? I tried to be a good daughter, I really tried. I wanted Papa to be proud of me for protecting his work. But now...’ Lapis thought as she stared at the remains of the lab. Among the bits of debris, there were bodies strewn across the floor as if they were discarded rag dolls. Some of them had merely been rendered unconscious from Lapis’s last attack. The others weren’t as fortunate. It was then that the girl decided there was simply nothing else she could do. Even though her mind was filling with a mixture of sorrow, regret, anger, and fear over this decision, she knew that she had to leave the lab and venture into the outside world.
After what felt like hours of traversing the winding tunnels that the intruders had used to get into the lab, Lapis Lazuli was finally met with sunlight when she found an opening that led outside. The child tensed and drew back a bit. It felt strange trying to adjust to how bright everything was out here after spending so long in darkness.
It didn’t take long for Lapis to regain her composure. She found herself on the outskirts of some sort of town. It was rather quiet though. From what she remembered while reading Dr. Criel’s documents, weren’t towns supposed to be full of people? This one looked like it was deserted. ‘Perhaps this was the home of the people that I...’ Lapis shook her head and quickly cleared that thought from her mind. Today had been morbid enough. There was no need to make it even worse.
The child very slowly began closing the distance between herself and the town. She opted to stay as quite as possible. Lapis didn’t want to stir up a commotion. Besides, she was still bitter towards humans after they destroyed what her father took so long to create. Lapis wasn’t exactly in to mood to speak to anyone after that experience, even if there were still people here.
